Laser tattoo removal
High quality, professional tattoo removal in the very heart of Chester city centre.
The safest and most effective way to permanently remove unwanted tattoos is undoubtedly via laser tattoo removal. Though other methods do exist, such as dermabrasion, tattoo removal creams and even surgery, these can often result in scarring and an increased risk of infection.
Laser tattoo removal at Bridge Street Laser in Chester is tried and tested to be a safe, efficient and effective way to lighten or remove professional, amateur, and traumatic tattoos, as well as semi-permanent make up.
With a combined 20+ years working in the tattoo industry, we’re well versed in everything that goes into tattoos. Our years of experience putting tattoos into skin make us uniquely situated to also remove them. We can also offer full service cover ups, where the old tattoo is lasered to a point that it can effectively be covered up with a new design of your choosing.

faqs
does laser tattoo removal hurt?
We really wish we could say otherwise, but unfortunately yes, laser tattoo removal does hurt. Some people describe it as similar to having a rubber band flicked against the skin, or grease from a spitting pan landing on your arm.
The good news is that although it hurts, it’s over incredibly quickly, and the pain doesn’t tend to linger much once the treatment is over.
A tattoo that could have taken 2 hours to complete can be completely lasered in a matter of minutes, so we’re confident that if you managed to get the tattoo in the first place, you’ll be just fine when it comes to having it removed.
So yes, laser tattoo removal is uncomfortable, but thankfully not for very long!
How does laser tattoo removal work?
The science behind it can get a bit complicated, so we’ll try and keep this simple. A pulse of laser light is fired at a specific frequency from our handset. The light passes through the skin and hits the tattoo ink, where it essentially breaks it apart into tiny particles. Once the ink is broken down, your immune system does the rest of the work, essentially flushing the particles out! This is why several treatments are usually needed for complete tattoo removal, each time the particles are broken down smaller and smaller until eventually there are none left.
How long does it take to remove a tattoo?
Everyone reacts differently to laser, and there are a lot of variables at play that make this a difficult question to give an exact answer to. It comes down to skin type, ingredients in the ink, how efficient your immune system is and how packed in the tattoo is. To completly remove a tattoo will take at least 6 sessions, but could be 10 or more.
How many sessions will it take to fade my tattoo for a cover up?
This depends on all of the things listed above. However, it’s safe to say that if we’re only looking to fade a tattoo you’ll need significantly less treatment sessions than for a full removal, likely 2-4 in total.
Is a new tattoo easier to get rid of?
Unfortunately, no. When a tattoo is done ink is injected deep into the dermis of the skin. Regardless of how new or old the tattoo is, it will still require the same amount of energy to remove it.
Is laser tattoo removal safe?
Yes, it’s very safe. Our machine has been made to the highest standards right here in the UK, and meets every kind of legislated standard needed. We’re also fully qualified to administer laser tattoo removal procedures from official accreditation bodies - our certificates are hanging proudly on the wall of our treatment room.
Laser light also only reacts to ink particles, not skin on it’s own, so the surrounding area will not be affected and there’ll be no long term damage.
what makes you different from other laser tattoo removal clinics in chester?
Other clinics lump tattoo removal in with aesthetic treatments, such as hair removal or chemical peels. Here at Bridge Street Laser we focus more on the tattoo side, instead of the aesthetic side. We are based within a tattoo studio after all.
That means that when it comes to lasering, we don’t split our focus across multiple treatments. We do laser tattoo removal, that’s all, and we put all of our energy into making sure we’re providing the best service and achieving the best results possible for our clients.
This unique viewpoint combined with a professional approach and impeccable service sets us apart from other laser tattoo removal clinics in Cheshire.
